Android M (otherwise known as Android 6.0 or Marshmallow) began rolling out last year, but unless you had Google's own new Nexus devices, you probably didn't receive it.  However, if you were a Motorola consumer, you might have been in luck, and it is still slowly rolling out on certain devices.  This is the latest news on Android M 6.0 Marshmallow Upgrade Release Date for Motorola G, X, E-Series for Verizon, US Cellular, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile, as well as the new Moto X flagship smartphone for 2016. 

According to Android Authority, there is quite a list of devices from Motorola that are due to receive the upgrade and not only do they include the G series, X Series, and E series, but much more. 

G Series 

Good news for Moto G (2015 edition) users, as it received its Marshmallow upgrade as of last year, a little Christmas gift as of December 24.  The Moto G Turbo then received its upgrade in January, followed by an upgrade to Moto G (3^rd Gen) variants in Europe.  Android 6.0.1 then rolled out at the end of March to users in India.

The Moto G (2014) was just updated recently in the United States at the beginning of last month.  Users of the device in India were able to obtain the Marshmallow upgrade in February.

X  Series

Sadly, the news on the Moto X Pure (also known as the Style) is months old, with the announcement that Moto X Pure users on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and US Cellular should be getting it.  This also goes for users in Latin America. 

The Moto X Play had its Android 6.0 update rolling out at the beginning of January, at least in India and Brazil.  Then, in late March, Android 6.0.1 rolls out in Canada and India. 

The Moto X (2014) was the first to receive the Android rollout, in Brazil and India, as early as November.  It was then followed by India, Europe, and International editions throughout the month of December. 

E Series

As for the Moto E (2015), this received its Android upgrade, at least in India.  For those that have the E Series in the United States, there is some bad news as the upgrade won't be coming to this region. 

Users of the Droid Turbo 2, the Employee Edition, also received their Marshmallow share last December, and it looks like Droid Turbo 2 should have received its upgrade on March 1. 

If you have a newer device from Motorola running Android 5.0 or higher, and want to see if 6.0 or even 6.0.1 is available, it is recommended that you head to your "Settings" menu and check for a "System Update".  Hopefully, your carrier has this upgrade available for you, whether you are with Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, US Cellular, or T-Mobile in the United States. 

There has been a recent report from the International Business Times saying that the new Moto X smartphone, which will no doubt have Android M right out of the box is coming soon.  Since Motorola doesn't really have a clear release pattern for its new phones, it is difficult to predict when the next new flagship phone will be appearing.  It is possible for a release date sometime in between June and August.
