Android M 6.0.1 Marshmallow Release Date Update for Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge +, Note 5, Note 4, S5 on Verizon, AT&T, US Cellular, T-Mobile, and Sprint

When it comes to the upgrade of Android operating system on smartphones and tablets, it can happen very slowly.  This appears to be the case with Version 6.0, also known as Android M or Marshmallow.  Fortunately, Samsung, one of the biggest cheerleaders of the Android operating system, is starting to receive the long-awaiting upgrade on some of its newer devices.  This is the latest news about the Android M Version 6.0 Marshmallow Release Date for Samsung devices like the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge +, Note 5, Note 4, and S5 for carriers like Verizon, AT&T, US Cellular, T-Mobile, and Sprint. 

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is now rolling out to the Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 5, and Note 4.  So far, we know that the upgrade is rolling out to the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge on Verizon.  We have previously reported that those S6 and S6 Edge users on T-Mobile and Sprint should have it, and Pocket Lint reports that these two phones are pretty much covered for other carriers such as AT&T and US Cellular as well. 

So, with the Galaxy S7 already having Android Marshmallow out of the box, and the Galaxy S6 series "taken care of", what about the flagship from two years ago with the Galaxy S5?  Gotta Be Mobile has reported that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 6.0.1 update is starting to roll out as of last week, in both Korea and the United States.  In fact, it has been confirmed in Korea with a few carriers there, but details are pretty sketchy when it comes to the United States carriers. 

T-Mobile is currently planning one for sure, and that is a good sign that the update is on its way to other carriers like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and US Cellular.  A recent report from the Lawyer Herald as of yesterday has everyone wondering "what carrier will receive it first", which is the burning question on all Galaxy S5 users.  It can't be too long, and Galaxy S5 users should be checking their "Settings" and "System Update" to see if the Over the Air (OTA) upgrade isn't available already. 

We have previously reported that Galaxy Note 5 and Note 4 users have been receiving Android M, provided they are with Sprint.  Verizon has also rolled out the same Android version for Galaxy Note 5, and other mobile carriers such as US Cellular, AT&T, and T-Mobile, are testing the update.  If you have any of these devices, you should be getting your Marshmallow update soon, so check your "Settings" as well as "System Update" to see if it is available as of now.
