Apple Black Friday Deals 2014: iPhone 6 for $99 and Gift Card Bundles for iPad Air 2

This year's Black Friday sales event promises to be a big one for smartphones and tablet PCs, and Apple is certainly no stranger to dishing out the deep discounts for the holiday shopping season.

The release of the newest devices in September marked a notch in the traditional schedule for the Cupertino, California company to prepare fans for the holiday season, so those who have been holding out for a big sale will be happy to hear that Apple plans to discount both the iPhone 6 and the iPad Air 2 this month.

iPhone 6

Sam's Club is selling the iPhone 6 for as low as $99 during this year's sales event, as detailed in a leaked sales ad over at GottaDeal.com. The double-digit sale price is for the 16 GB version of the popular phone, while the 64 GB will be $199 and the 128 GB edition will set you back $299. All of these deals are in conjunction with a two-year contract for Sam's Club members. The sale begins at 7 a.m. on November 15.

The leaked flyer also notes that each Sam's Club location will have between 40 and 50 units on hand, and the promotion will run until December 31.

There are no reports of sales at other retailers yet, but you can bet that Apple will continue its tradition of offering discounts during its own Black Friday sale. If the company continues last year's trend, they should be offering gift card bundles instead of discounting the devices themselves.

iPad Air 2

Dealnews.com advises against falling for Apple's Black Friday sales on the iPad Air 2 to instead focus on retail sales at stores like Best Buy. The large retail outlet is starting the Black Friday discounts early this year with special promotion on November 8 that offers a $50 gift card included with the purchase of an iPad Air or Air 2. This sale will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. only.

Last year's iPad Air was only a month old when it enjoyed a Black Friday discount of $70, and this year's month-old iPad Air 2 should see a repeat. Look for large retail stores to follow the gift card trend and offer bundles and "doorbusters" with $75 to $100 gift cards with the purchase of the tablet.
