Apple WWDC Keynote 2014 Live Stream, Live Blog: iOS 8 and OS X 10.10 Release Date Update

Apple's Keynote event World Wide Developers' Conference (WWDC) 2014 will begin live streaming free today June 2 at 10 a.m. PST/ 1 p.m. ET. Like previous years, all the biggest releases will be announced at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. 

Apple Special Event "with exciting announcements" will be streamed live free over Apple's website. Live streaming video requires Safari 4 or later on OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later. Alternatively, you may also join the CNET live blog to get the latest news. 

The highly-anticipated iOS 8 is definitely making an appearance at the Worldwide Developers Conference, while the iPhone 6 may be absent. The iOS 8 is going to have major changes on the same level as previous iOS 7. One rumored iOS 8 function that will be getting a lot of attention is the Healthbook app, which allows users to organize fitness and health information. Other functions may include a standalone iTune Radio app and redesigned Apple Maps.

Another thing to expect in this year's WWDC is the new verison of OS X. The OS X 10.10 will be the next-generation Mac operating system, and is expected to share a physical appearance similar to the iOS 7. Rumors indicate that the OS X 10.10 will keep many of Apple's operation features. So, changes are going to center around the aesthetic. 

Other rumors includes a Retina MacBook Air, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the Macbook Air with HD Retina Display was due for release in 2014. Kuo has an excellent track record of fairly-accurate predictions for upcoming Apple products. Still, there is the possibility that the Macbook Air with Retina Display may be held back until next year, mainly because Apple has already released a 2014 update for the Macbook Air.

The actual specs of the Macbook Air with Retina Display remain unconfirmed, but it is generally believed that it will sport a 2304x1440 resolution display. In regards to software, the upcoming device may come with the next-gen iOS 8 software.
