Apple co-founder and chairman Steve Jobs has died at age 56, confirms Apple Inc. Known as the “greatest innovator of this era”, Jobs was the mastermind behind the iPhone, iPad, iPod, and many other technological products that revolutionized the way for more personal computing devises.

Jobs co-founded Apple Computer in 1976 and marketed the world's first personal computer, the Apple II. In 2004, he overcame an unusual form of pancreatic cancer, and in 2009, he was forced to get a liver transplant.Further deteriorating health led to Jobs announcing Aug. 24, 2011, that he was stepping down as Apple's CEO.

Pateluma-based Chinese evangelist Yuan Zhi-Ming blogged last year after reading Job’s speech to the Stanford graduates during their commencement ceremony, “[I] was a bit touched. What he said can be compared to the path to success in life, but it surpasses the path to success in life; what is more important than success is love, gratitude, faith, destiny, and death. I hope that Chinese people can comprehend the pitiful sentiment behind personal success; whether or not Jobs is a Christian, this kind of sentiment is the outflowing of the Christian civilization.”

Jobs was listed in March as 109th on Forbes' list of the world's billionaires, with a net personal worth of approximately $8.3 billion.
