After an absence of some years, Aston Martin is again participating in the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed as the main sponsor of the largest celebration of motoring and car culture that is currently running on the grounds of Goodwood House, West Sussex, England.

One of the most anticipated unveiling in this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed is the Aston Martin DB9 GT that is scheduled for global commercial release in September this year starting at $240,430. Auto Car said Aston Martin plans on replacing the DB9 with a new model in 2017 to be called the DB11.

The DB9 GT is powered by a 5.9-liter aspirated V12 engine capable of producing 540bhp a significant upgrade from its predecessor which packs 510bhp. The new DB9 GT can generate up to 6750rpm, with 457lb ft of torque available at 5500rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

Aston Martin product development boss Ian Minards described the DB9 GT "the very best of what DB9 can be." Combined with the Touchronic II six-speed transmission, the GT's performance is boosted, with 0-62mph now delivered in 4.4 seconds, a tenth quicker than before. Top speed is 183mph.

A 6.0-litre V12 engine with 547ps can produce an additional 30 horsepower on the regular DB9. Torque stays the same at 620 Nm at 5500 rpm.

The DB9 also gets a raft of engineering, equipment and styling developments in new GT form, 'calculated to make this the very best of what DB9 can be', according to the firm.

Upgrades include a revised, more user-friendly version of the touch-sensitive infotainment system from the Vanquish.

The sleek looks, first seen at the original DB9's launch in 2003, are carried over with a few changes. Spot the GT by its black painted splitter and diffuser, revised headlight and taillight treatments and new 10-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels. Black anodised brake calipers and a GT engraving on the aluminium fuel filler cap also distinguish the new model.

Aston is also using the Festival of Speed to showcase the latest-spec Vantage and Rapide S models, both with equipment upgrades.

All up it's going to be a huge Festival of Speed for Aston Martin this year, with the dynamic debut of the motorsport-inspired Vantage GT12 - to be driven up the hill by Aston's new boss Andy Palmer - and the world first sighting of the new luxury Taraf in action.

DB9 is the iconic heart of the Aston Martin model range. A Grand Tourer combining an intoxicating blend of elegance and engineering, refinement and technology. DB9 is also the latest progeny of the most illustrious automotive bloodline in the world.

Available in both Coupe and Volante format DB9 can also be enjoyed in unique Carbon Edition specification.

Aston Martin DB10 was seen on the latest James Bond movie "Spectre" which stars Daniel Craig. Aston Marin will build 10 examples of the DB10, which was designed especially for the movie, said Motor Authority.

The DB10 will not be available for commercial selling and it is expected that only one or two of the units will survive the filming.
