Asus' new smartwatch for Android Wear is making its way to IFA 2014, which will be held on Sept. 5 thru 10 in Berlin, Germany.

On Tuesday, Aug. 26, Asus unveiled a sketch of the fabled device on its Twitter feed. The picture also listed the Sept. 3 reveal date for the new smartwatch. It is likely that the given marks a public event for the upcoming handset. The Taiwan-based company joins three other manufacturers that have utilized the Android Wear operating system in their smartwatches. Those companies include Samsung, LG, and Motorola.

Based on the tweeted image, the mystery smartwatch has a squared shaped with rounded corners that are similar to that found on the LG G smartwatch. However, the corners on Asus' device are more rounded. The side view shows that watch is curved in conformance to the wearer's wrist - suggesting comfort. In contrast, the Samsung Gear Live and LG G have flat backs. Hence, users with smaller wrists may find those devices slightly uncomfortable to wear.

Other than what was released on Twitter, Asus has yet to reveal details such as the specs and dimension. Both the name and the price of this new smartwatch also remain unknown. Due to the suddenness of the announcement, the rumor mill has yet to come up with a name for this device.

In the days leading up to IFA 2014, Asus's competitors will unveil smartwatches that use the same Android Wear OS. On Sept. 4, Motorola will show off its highly-anticipated Moto 360 smartwatch at its headquarters near Chicago, IL. Not to be outdone, LG recently announced the round-shaped version of it G watch in a video advertisement on Aug. 24, Sunday.
