This season will start off on a more somber note as one contestant, Eric Hill, died in a paragliding accident last month, after concluding his portion of the show. The show has not revealed how far Hill got in the competition, but People reports he will not be edited out of any episodes.

"When I heard the news, I was devastated," Dorfman told People magazine. "Shock, devastation, grief. It's something you never could have predicted [or] expected." She said she would keep fond memories of the explorer and his love for life.

The Bachelorette, hosted by Chris Harrison, airs on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC. You can watch the episode 1 online at abc.go.com. If you cannot watch it tonight, make sure to go to ABC official website next week and watch the entire episode for free.
