Shooter game fans have to make tough choice this May, as Battleborn and Overwatch are on their way to gaming shelves. These two action-packed games feature online multiplayer option and cool characters. Now, here's latest the round up of update about Battleborn, Overwatch release date and features.

Battleborn and Overwatch both feature more than 20 unique characters. Interestingly, these titles are the first in a new genre of games called "hero shooters," where players can choose cool heroes with unique personalities instead of custom-made characters or faceless soldier. In addition, each hero in Overwatch and Battleborn has different combat roles - healers, damage dealers and tanks.

Furthermore, both games put emphasis on online multiplayer mode. The two games focus heavily on players vs. players combat in visually stunning maps. As hero shooters, each game requires players' teamwork in every battle.

However, Overwatch and Battleborn have different campaign modes. The latter offers eight story missions and prologue that can be played solo or with up to four players. The missions in Battleborn transports players to a new planet where they have to face legions of enemies, protect NPC characters and defeat stage bosses. On the other hand, Overwatch does not have any story modes. The title only offers players vs. A.I. battles.

In terms of game progression, Overwatch players can access the game's entire roster of characters. They also don't have to unlock the heroes' abilities. Players in Overwatch progress in the form of ranks and various unlockables via loot crates.

In Battleborn, players can level up any hero for up to level 10 over the course of campaign or match. Each level progression gives players an opportunity to unlock various hero's abilities. However, this level is reset at the end of campaign or match. Just like Overwatch, Battleborn has also player rank that increases every game.

As a conclusion, Battleborn and Overwatch are two entirely different games, and each of them offers an unique set of characters and in-game locations. These two hero-based shooter games will definitely make it to this year's best cooperative and multiplayer games.

As of this writing, Overwatch conducts open beta for selected players before its launching on May 24. The title is playable on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Overwatch is created by Blizzard, the developer behind Warcraft, Diablo and Starcraft.

Battleborn was released earlier this month, May 3. It is playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. The title is created by Gearbox, the developer of Duke Nukem Forever and Aliens: Colonial Marines.
