"Be United," Civil Aviation Minister urges Indian Christian Community

Christians demand more representation in administration of the Government...

Bangalore, Nov. 12 - Civil aviation minister T John here on Thursday urged the Christian community to remain united.

He was speaking at the State Level Christian leader's meeting.

The meet, attended by leaders from Karnataka state United Christian Organisation, All India Christian Democratic Front, The Organisation of Independent Churches in India , All India United Christian Voice, Global Council for Indian Christians and All India Christians Political Front requested that a separate commission be formed for the development of Christians.

They said till now, the minority commission had done nothing for the development of Christians. They added, more Christians should be appointed as chairman, vice-chairman and members of boards and corporations. They also said that Christians should be nominated as corporators because as of now, there was no Christian in the Bangalore City Corporation (BCC). Christians should be given more representation in assemblies and other important posts, they said.
