Although Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen stated earlier this week that there would be no new Dragon Age game in 2015, rumors of a downloadable content pack for Dragon Age: Inquisition are running rampant.

In fact, there are more than just rumors about DLC coming for the latest Dragon Age game as BioWare's Mark Darrah tweeted earlier this month that the next DLC is in development.

"[W]orking on it... We will discuss once we are more locked down," Darrah said on his Twitter in response to a fan question asking specifically if we'll see "some DLC any time soon."

This is certainly exciting news to fans of the award-winning game, and it's honestly no surprise, especially if there will be no new game in 2015.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a fantasy action role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. It's the third game in the Dragon Age series, starting with Dragon Age: Origins and following with Dragon Age II. The game was released for Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in November of 2014 anmd has so far received numerous game-of-the-year and best-RPG awards from reviewers. The game has enjoyed a Metacritic score that ranges from 89 for the PS4 version to 85 for the PC and Xbox One versions.

Dragon Age: Inquisition was developed to combined the best elements of the first two games into something with much larger environments and more opportunities for exploration. The Qunari race was also introduced as a playable race for the first time, joining the human, dwarf, and elf.

So far, each Dragon Age game has featured a number of DLC packs. Dragon Age: Origins had eight, plus a full expansion pack to its name. Dragon Age II had four DLC packs in 2011 alone, so it's certainly no surprise that Inquisition would have DLC packs as well.

During the 2015 Technology, Internet, and Media Conference on Monday, EA's CFO spoke in greater detail about the franchise, explaining that the publisher recognizes the potential in the coming years.

"Longer-term, we're very excited," Jorgensen said. "BioWare, they just won Game of the Year at the DICE Awards. We're very excited about the success of that team and what we can do with that team. I think there's a huge opportunity for [Dragon Age]."

Despite not revealing any solid sales numbers on the game, EA is now calling Dragon Age: Inquisition BioWare's most successful launch of all time, according to the number of copies sold on release day.

In addition to the success of the Dragon Age franchise, EA teased at the conference the idea that BioWare is working on a "couple of new pieces of IP that are very exciting," but no further details were given there. Every major intellectual property that BioWare has touched has turned to gold, including Mass Effect, Star Wars's Old Republic timeline, and now Dragon Age, so we're excited to see something new from the triple-A developer.
