One thing that gamers can look forward to with most modern games is the addition of DLC (Downloadable Content), and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has had no shortage of it with Awakening, Eclipse, and now a third DLC on its way.  Right now, the entire Call of Duty franchise could use some good news from its fans who don't seem to be taking to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare too positively. 

According to Gotta Be Mobile, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC will feature map packs that will arrive before Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's release date.  In fact, this new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC number 3 could arrive in June.  There is not a real specific date on this, so it could be early or late. 

It might not be in the middle of the month, as that is when E3 2016, the big gaming convention in Los Angeles, will take place.  Don't forget the Sony has the exclusive on the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC, so it will only appear for the PS4 when it appears.  The PC and Xbox One versions will get it 30 days later in July.   The DLC 3 has four new places to play, but only three of these will be brand new along with a remake, and it is not known what will be remade.  Each DLC has had the Zombies experience, but we don't quite know where it will be for this particular DLC. 

It is possible that there will be a mini-update for Eclipse, the second Black Ops 3 DLC.  This will be coming to set the stage for the new maps, so expect it before the release date of Black Ops 3 DLC 3.    

Right now, the future of Call of Duty doesn't look too bright.  A few weeks ago, Activision brought out a trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and according to Ubergizmo, the trailer has over 2 million dislikes.  That isn't enough to be the most disliked video on YouTube, but it puts it at the number 4 slot. 

Apparently, Call of Duty fans do not like the direction that the series is going, which is in space.  Fans probably want a war game that is more grounded, such as what Battlefield is doing with Battlefield 1.  There is a lot of rivalry between Call of Duty and Battlefield players, and Infinite Warfare could provoke them to play EA's coming World War I game rather than Activision's Independence Day-ish game. 

Still, Activision is has acknowledged that gamers didn't like the trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, but it became one of the franchise's best -selling titles.  So perhaps Infinite Warfare does have a future like Black Ops III does, but we will have to wait.   In the meantime, keep your eyes out for Double XP and Double Weapons XP weekends.
