Many fans assume that the character would turn up in the movie because Peter Parker has an integral role in the Mark Millar-scripted Civil War comic series.

Rumors said there is an actor spotted in the movie set who wears the familiar red and blue suit that covered him from head to toe. At the end of the interview from Entertainment Weekly, Downey revealed the casting of Spider-Man.

"[Don Cheadle and I] are now like the old guard, and our storyline carries real weight just because of our history in the [canon]. But we're also looking around like, 'Who thought that Falcon and Black Panther and Ant-Man and now Spider-Man...?'" the actor said.

As part of a deal with Sony Pictures, Marvel said that Spider-Man will have its movie in July 2017. English actor Tom Holland will the play the latest reboot of web-slinging hero.

In an interview with Joe Russo, one of the directors of Civil War, he praised Holland's amazing acting talent and physicality. The actor is also a dancer that makes him perfect for the portrayal of the acrobatic hero.

Compare to other actors who played Spider-Man, Holland is much younger. The directors explained that they picked an actor who will have the same age as the hero. They stressed that it is the only way to make a difference from what has been done in the past.

Joe and his older brother Anthony Russo directed the Captain America: Civil War.

With the casting of 19-year-old Holland, this means that Andrew Garfield was out throughout the rest of the Spider-Man movies.
