Going into Week 17, Cam Newton has led the Panthers with 22 pass touchdowns at 3,230 yards and 6 rush touchdowns at 513 yards. Now, the Panthers is ranked 1st in NFC South. Besides Newton, his teammates running back DeAngelo Williams have rushed for 810 yards at 3 touchdowns. On the receiving end, Greg Olsen, Steve Smith, Brandon LaFell, and Ted Ginn have been leading the team in catches and touchdowns.

The Falcons is ranked 3rd in NFC South. Quarterback Matt Ryan have led his team with 24 touchdowns at 4,235 yards. Running back Steven Jackson have put down 6 rush touchdowns at 502 yards. On the receiving end, Harry Douglas, Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White, and Julio Jones.

According to the teams offensive and defensive comparison, the Falcons have more pass yards and total yards per game, but fall short to Panthers' power-running plays. From the defensive end, the Panthers have led the league in yielding one of the least number of points and rush yards per game. Unless the Falcons are able to penetrate the Panthers' defense, it is most likely that Newton will lead his team in total domination against Ryan.
