There are many Christian stores in the bay area that provide a broad array of reading materials for English-speaking Christians, but a limited selection of Chinese Christian books for the mass of Chinese-speaking individuals who seek to know the Lord.

On August 6, Chinese Christian Mission (CCM) will open a bookroom in their gospel center that will serve the Chinese Christian community by providing a convenient place where Chinese Christian materials can be distributed.

Not only that, but, General Secretary of CCM, Rev. Paul Chan said that this bookroom will provide a vast selection of Chinese Christian literature from popular Chinese Christian authors as well as many different types of bibles that include devotional, application, and different versions of the Chinese bible.

In addition, he said that by opening this bookroom, he believes that Chinese Christians can grow spiritually.

"Reading is really important for growing as Christians and knowing the Lord."

And, because the bookroom will be located in CCM's gospel center, he believes that this bookroom will be a gathering place for Chinese Christians to bring their non-Christian Chinese friends.

For the opening of the bookroom a ceremony will be held beginning at 10:30 a.m., which will conclude at 4 p.m. The ceremony will provide brief messages from a list of influential pastors that include Rev. Thomas Wang, Rev. Lawrence Fung, and Rev. Paul Chan.

After the ceremony, CCM has asked some Chinese Christian authors to sign books, one of which is Cecilia Yau, who has written for CCM and has other works in publication.

Rev. Paul Chan also stated that this bookroom was requested by the Chinese Christian community who hoped that CCM would establish a place where they would be able to purchase books without having to go through mail-orders in CCM'S Petaluma branch.

The bookroom is positioned in San Francisco to serve CCM's target readers who have shown their customer loyalty to the Petaluma branch and, CCM wanted to give them easier access to Christian reading materials.
