Chinese Christian Music Icons in the Making

By Christina Song

"Because many of our friends like music, however the lack of support, at the end they can only give up," Creator Voice co-worker Sister Sun said.

This is the reason Alice Tan, a Chinese Evangelist who once had experience in the media industry, founded Creator Voice half year ago and wishes that brothers and sisters in Christ can support it professionally “to let the voice of God to be heard and spread beautiful testimony for the Lord.”

This time, the global Chinese Christian Composition contest is one of the biggest and most anticipated events for which Creator Voice has prepared extensively.

These activities are designed to encourage Chinese Christians to harness their music composition and performance skills.

Awards are given out to categories including 'Best Lyrics’, ‘Best Songs’, 'Best Singer’, ‘Best Team’ and ‘Most Popular’.

Candidates must send in their songs before June 30, or send a CD to Creator Voice, and nominees to enter the finals will be announced on July 15.

Judges all over the continent come to partipate in this event, including members from New York Oversea Chinese Mission Main Church, Vancouver Television and so on.

On the day of contest, the winners will be voted by both judges and audiences.

In addition, Creator Voice will sponsor the winners further professional training in the areas of composition, recording, production and releasing albums.

"They will elect 12 to 18 songs to the finals and these songs will be recorded and broadcasted in Creation TV," one Creation Voice staff. "There are a lot of work in the preparation process, wishes to receive more guidance from God."
