Chinese Christians Worldwide Bring Heavenly Blessings during the New Year

Lunar New Year festivities have been used by Chinese Christians across the world to advance the spread of Gospel and the sharing of heavenly blessings.

In countries such as Hong Kong and Taiwan, Lunar New Year is being more widely celebrated compared to the Western countries. At the New Year’s Eve, as tens of thousands of Hong Kong citizens rushed to the largest Flower Market at Victoria Park to purchase goods and flowers to celebrate the special season, Chinese Bible International Limited have set up booths to distribute pamphlets with Gospel messages. The red banner hung on the booth read in Chinese, "The blessings from God allow people to be filled without any worries."

Inside the booth, different editions of Chinese Bibles are on sale. Visitors are also welcomed to take some free pamphlets with words of blessings with Gospel theme. Worldwide Bible Society and Network J have also published similar Chinese New Year decoration products.

While movie is one of the most popular entertainments for Hong Kong people during the Lunar New Year holiday, a Hong Kong-based Christian media group the Media Evangelism Limited is preparing a massive evangelistic outreach with the renowned film 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe'.

On the other side of the globe, Canada’s huge Chinese population has also greeted the New Year warmly as many Christian organizations reach out to the Chinese community with care and blessings.

Vancouver Chinese Christian Short-Term Mission Training Center (VCCSTM) has set up booth for community outreach on Jan. 26-29 at the Flower Market in Vancouver PNE. Around 100 of volunteers were sent to stand around the venue and talked to the visitors. Some of them distributed the newspaper Truth Monthly while some other counselors listened to those who would like to receive Christ and prayed for them regardless of their ages- children, youth and seniors. Many people have confessed to accept Christian faith and every new believer will be followed up by local churches.

In Toronto, Ambassador For Christ (AFC) Canada has also staged similar booths at the Flower Market on Jan. 27-28, introducing many spiritual books and products.
