Following their Week 10 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Dallas Cowboys are now officially the best team in the NFL. It seems team owner, president and general manager Jerry Jones plans to maintain this by sticking with Dak Prescott and making Tony Romo his backup.

During the past couple of weeks, fans saw how the once-injured Romo slowly recovered and returned to playing condition by attending practices with the team. Although there have been a lot of speculations that he will be reinstated to his starting post in the near future, doing so doesn't seem to make sense especially given the way Prescott has been leading the team lately.

Recently, Jones finally made a decision regarding the current quarterback situation of the Cowboys. Following the logical thing to do, Jones has decided to retain Prescott as the starting quarterback of the Dallas franchise. Romo, on the other hand, who was once the main passer of the team, will now be Prescott's backup.

"I think the longer he plays like this, the more we have a chance to have another win," Jones said about Prescott. "Everybody here wants to do only really one thing, is win. There's nobody that would introduce any other issue or any other consideration other than do whatever it takes to win the game."

"So, today, to be able to come out of here with a win just obliterates any thought about any of the issues that you might have as to who's out on the field," he added.

It is not yet clear how long the Cowboys plan to stick with their current QB setup but according to reports, Romo will be on the sidelines as Prescott's backup in the Week 11 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

If Prescott manages to continue the team's winning streak throughout the year, then he could be the team's starter for the rest of the season and even after the next offseason.

Jones's decision to demote Romo to backup is a very fair call to make especially given the team's current condition. After all, aside from the Cowboys' winning streak, another factor that he has to consider is Romo's ability to play since he just came from a back injury. If he gets back to his original playing form or if he manages to out-play Prescott, then their roles could once again get reversed.

Either way, the Cowboys currently have a pretty good quarterback situation since they are currently playing around with two very talented athletes.
