Going into game 2 of Western Conference First Round series, the Ducks will return with their captain Ryan Getzlaf, who took a puck to the face late in Game 1. Getzlaf received stitches for a deep laceration, according to NHL.com.

The Ducks have won five straight games, including the regular season. In Game 1, they had a lead of 4-0, but nearly lost the lead when Stars caught up to 4-3.

Another Ducks' star playerCam Fowler had a breakout season and earned a spot on the United States Olympic team before a knee injury cost him three weeks. He returned near the end of the season, and how effective he can be could be the difference between a long playoff run and a short one.

The Stars played nine players with no prior Stanley Cup Playoff experience and their goalie Kari Lehtonen played in his first postseason game since 2007.

While this could be an excuse for not playing well, coach Lindy Ruff and Captain Jamie Benn, who scored the Stars' first goal Wednesday, have worked at getting the team into the right mindset.

"We know how we have to play to beat these guys, and we're going to have to have another strong effort [Friday]," said Benn, the NHL.com reported.

The Ducks have put Frederik Anderson, 24, as the goaltender. He made 32 saves and will probably be put to play in Game 2. He is the youngest goalie in Ducks history to appear in playoff game.

The Ducks have set an impressive record of 54 wins, 116 points, 263 goals, and 26 comeback victories.

Despite these stats, Getzlaf said his teammates are forgetting their past but focused on getting the trophy.

"Nobody remembers the team that had the best regular season in franchise history," Getzlaf said. "It's all about winning in the playoffs. I've been here nine years, and the only year we ever talk about is the year we won the Cup."
