The Blackhawks is mired in a 1-3-2 stretch, though they gained significant points in Friday's 4-0 win against Winnipeg Jets and Sunday's 3-2 defeat to Minnesota Wild. The game against the Wild is the team's third loss at home.

With standing of 42-24-7, the Blackhawks are struggling to win a good position in Central Division, while the rest of the West contenders are winning games. The team has 91 points, trailing behind the Stars by four. Moreover, they sit behind Los Angeles and St. Louis.

Chicago's backup goaltender Scott Darling performed well in his recent games. He owns 1.64 goals-against average and .945 save percentage in three straight starts. Some of his notable performances are his second career shutout against the Jets and a 32-save effort against the Wild, as per reports from Yahoo Sports.

On other hand, Dallas Stars are now one of the top-scoring teams in the NHL. However, the team has to survive until Tyler Seguin recovers from his injury. Seguin is said to be out for three to four weeks after surgery to repair a small cut in his left Achilles tendon.

Aside from Seguin's injury, there are concerns for the Stars' defense. The team has surrendered five goals in their two previous games, which is the sixth time they gave up at least that many in 13 games.  Good thing, Kari Lehtonen has played well in the last two games, leading some fans to speculate he has earned the postseason starting position over Antti Niemi.

In Feb. 6 meeting of the Blackhawks and the Stars, the Blackhawks dominated the matchup with a final score of 5-1 at American Airlines Center. However, since that game in Dallas in February, the team has lost nine consecutive games to Western Conference playoff contending teams.

With that being said being said, let's see who will win on Tuesday's encounter.
