On Tuesday, April 27th, 2015, ABC will air the 10th Anniversary special of Dancing with the Stars (DTWS) at 8 PM.  The special celebrates twenty seasons of the hit dance show, and will have a lot of couples returning to perform, and many dance routines featuring other past contestants as well.

According to Buddy TV, the 10th Anniversary special will pack quite a lot in this hour as a tribute to the ten years and twenty seasons that the show has aired.  You can expect to see many past Dancing with the Stars competitors including Season 1 winner Kelly Monaco with her partner Val Chmerkovskiy, Season 18 winners Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and Season 19 winners Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson.  Also featured will be All-Stars winners Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani, and it sounds like all these couples will be performing, so I am guessing that there will not be any dancing of the current competitors that night.

In addition to the returning couples, there will also be some special group dances as well.  For example there will be a "Bromance" group dance featuring Derek Hough and Mark Ballas with their former partners like Maria Menounos, Amber Riley, Amy Purdy, Katherine Jenkins, Chelsea Kane, and Kristi Yamaguchi.   There will also be an NFL Players group dance featuring Anna Trebunskaya along with Emmitt Smith, Jacobey Jones, Kurt Warner, Donald Driver, Jerry Rice, Michael Irvin, and Hines Ward.

Unfortunately, not participating at the 10th Anniversary special of DTWS is Derek Hough.  Us Magazine reports that Derek has a foot injury, but fellow pro Sasha Farber is dancing in his place.

Preceding the 10th Anniversary Special of DWTS on the Monday Night before will be Eras Night.  This will have the top 7 dance to styles inspired by different eras.  For example, Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson will do an 80's Argentine Tango.  The highest scoring couple for this day will get immunity for the week which is very important as this episode will feature double elimination.  The six couples without immunity will take part in a trio of head-to-head dance-offs for some extra points.

Once the special is over, there are six shows left (occurring in a three-week period) before the end of DWTS Season 20.  Monday, May 4th and Tuesday, May 5th will be America's Choice Night, where the final five couples dance to styles and songs chosen by viewers.  Monday, May 11th and Tuesday, May 12th will be the Semifinals as the last four couples get a chance to proceed with Freestyle routines.  Then the Finals happen on Monday, May 18th and Tuesday, May 19th, where the final top three couples will perform their routines (including Freestyle) with the two-hour finale on Tuesday to see who gets the Golden Mirror Ball.
