Get ready for an action-packed battle in the next entry of Relic Entertainment's acclaimed Warhammer 40,000 real-time strategy series. Game publisher Sega revealed Dawn of War 3 will feature some of the biggest units in the game. Here's what is currently known about Dawn of War 3 trailer, features and PC release date.

The Dawn of War 3 announcement comes with impressive CG trailer that shows the fight between the Orks and Space Marines. These two races appeared in the previous games of the series. However, the third entry in the franchise will take the war in a grander scale.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 will combine the thrilling action of the original Dawn of War and the customization and elite heroes of Dawn of War 2. In addition, the third entry will introduce the Imperial Knights and Wraithknights, which are described as the series' "biggest units ever."

According to Sega's official release, players should expect rich strategic experience, stunning visuals, and catastrophic surprises in Dawn of War 3.

Players can use three races: Orks, Space Marines and Eldar. The campaign moves from mission to mission as all of the armies converge on the same planet to get a mysterious weapon. All races have their own collection of super abilities, elites, heroes and super units. One of the interesting additions in the game is the Imperial Knight. This giant walker is the biggest unit Relic has ever made. It is equipped with gatling cannons and rocket launcher that can bring huge damage to enemies.

PC Gamer gave details about the abilities of line and elite units in Dawn of War 3. Line units can give continuous damage to enemies while elite units can deliver decisive strikes. Certain combinations of the elite unit are perfect for early game strategy, and others are more powerful as a late game option.

The original Dawn of War was released in 2004. It was developed by Company of Heroes studio Relic Entertainment. After five years, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 became available. In a report from GameSpot, it says Sega bought Relic Entertainment for $26.6 million. The Dawn of War 3 is the first entry in the series that is managed by Sega.

As of now, the game developer has not yet disclosed the official release date of Dawn of War 3 on PC. While waiting, check out the game's trailer below.
