Game studio Bungie finally unleashed to the public what "Destiny 2" is all about. It will be a significant improvement from the first title that is a massive hit but many of the original elements remain nearly the same - the familiar gameplay or game features and the ability to stock up on loots. But the game creator insists, version 2.0 "is a new beginning for everyone."

That's according to Destiny 2 game director Luke Smith. When Smith talked about a new start for the Destiny game franchise he meant an alien force that swarmed into Earth with brutal efficiency, setting up a landscape that is totally unidentifiable from the original. Time said Destiny 2 is essentially a reboot, in which some form of downsizing and rethinking were implemented for better gameplay experience.

The new storyline, for instance, is more compelling or as described by BGR, a solid narrative in play is easily noticeable. The new villain named Ghaul led the Red Legion in laying siege to the Tower in The Last City. The fortress falls and the Guardians were left without a home. And armed only with pitiful gears, the game storyline begins.

Bungie said the worlds found on Destiny 2 will be more animated, and the excitement fairly spread across Earth, Titan Nessus and Io. Generally, the planets nothing short of gorgeous but dangerous at the same time because the enemy patrols. Exploring these expansive worlds, gamers will stumble on NPCs and fresh activities designed to keep them busy.

And there will be side missions with fresh textures that heighten the adventure and the usual ambient features and loot collectibles to keep the players connected to the game. One clear benefit of the rethinking mentioned above is the ability to restart world activities, a key revision that will save time for Destiny 2 players.

The new gameplay carried over with the three classes of the original title but for the sequel Warlock, Titan and Hunter have been given sub-classes with specific or unique game capabilities. These are the Warlock's Dawnblade, the Titan's Sentinel and the Hunter's Arcstrider. Also, Guardian classes have been given access to Kinetic, Energy and Power weapons that promise unrestricted and personalized functionalities.

The game Clans have been reworked for easier gameplay and improved interaction between players. Joining a Raid or Strike for instance is easy as long as there is an open slot. Obviously, the enhancement is meant PvP and co-op battles.

Bungie developers also applied some tweaks on the Crucible component of the game. In Destiny 2, the Crucible game type was reduced from 6v6 to 4v4, purportedly to make it more optimal for smaller group of players. The HUD was also redesigned and a Countdown for the attack/defend mode was included, all in the name of a better gameplay.

Bungie said Destiny 2 game fans can expect a beta release around late summer of 2017, which should be August as the actual release date has been set September 8 and it will be a multi-platform rollout. That means the game title will be available for PS4, Xbox and PC players. For the game trailer, check the clip below:
