Going into Week 17, the Detroit Lions is ranked 3rd in NFC North. They are the leagues No. 3 passing team and third highest in total yards per game on average. Their quarterback Matthew Stafford have led his team with 28 touchdowns at 4,433 yards. His teammate running back Reggie Bush has 4 rush touchdowns at 974 yards, and Joique Bell has eight rush touchdowns at 619 yards. Wide receiver Calvin Johnson has 12 touchdowns at 1,492 yards.

The Vikings are ranked 4th in NFC North. This season they have not played so well. Quarterback Christian Ponder have put down seven touchdowns at 1,648 pass yards, and running back Adrian Peterson have only had 10 touchdowns at 1,266 yards.

According to the teams' offensive and defensive stats, the Lions and Vikings have a very similar number of points per game, but Detroit out performs Minnesota in pass yards, third down conversion % and time of possession.

In addition, the Lions again out performs the Vikings in defense significantly. For example, the Lions have yielded 24.1 points on averaged versus Vikings' 31.1 points, and their opponent's third down conversion % allowed is 30.5 versus Vikings' 44.9 percent.

The odds are that the Lions will win the game on Sunday.
