In celebration of Quake's 20th anniversary, game developer MachineGames released a new episode in the classic shooter game. The new episode is called "Dopa," which is a free download. To get it, players just have to make sure they own a copy of original Quake game.

Newcomers should prepare for an action-packed and thrilling battle. Here's the easiest way to install Quake's new episode.

  •  You should grab a copy of Quake from Steam, and then it import to your Steam library.
  •  Download the RAR file of Dopa episode, and then extract it.
  •  Paste all Dopa episode files on Quake folder
  •  Right-click Quake in your Steam Library and choose "properties"
  • Head to "set launch options" and type "-game dopa" into the prompt

After following the steps above, you should be able to start Quake and run the new DOPA episode automatically. Interestingly, MachineGames had nothing to with the original Quake game. They are the developers of Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and Wolfenstein: The New Order. They released the Dopa episode as part of Quake's 20th anniversary.

The Quake was developed by id Software studios. It was initially released for PC in MS-DOS on June 22, 1996. Since then, the franchise expanded to several more games.

Quake is also rich in fan-made mods, levels and source ports. One of its first mods was Team Fortress, which became a major game series.

During the recently concluded E3 2016, gamers were surprised for the announcement of the next game in Quake franchise. The new game is titled Quake Champions. It will be directed by Tim Willits, who was also involved in many Quake games that id Software developed.

Quake Champions was announced at Bethesda's E3 press conference. The announcement came with a full CGI trailer that shows a battle between the series' burly humans and bloody cyborg Strogg.

Furthermore, the new Quake game is a competitive first-person shooter. Industry experts say it might become the next big thing in e-sports. The Quake III was one of the first major in e-sports gaming, but Quake Champions is definitely a big addition to the gaming industry.

More details about the game will be released on QuakeCon this August. Check out its trailer below. We'll give you more updates as soon we know more. Stay tuned with us for further information.
