Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has teamed up with Disney to make a movie revolving around a theme park attraction, Hollywood Reporter said.

The still untitled movie will be based on Jungle Cruise theme park and will be written by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra who also penned Crazy, Stupid, Love sand the heist movie Focus starring Will Smith. John Davis and John Fox of Davis Entertainment, the duo behind the film adaptation of Man From U.N.C.L.E., will be producing the movie, while Kristin Burr will oversee the project for Disney, the report added.

Johnson commented on the upcoming project, "[Disney production president] Sean Bailey and Disney have been awesome partners and now the fun part begins ... We're starting to put in the work with Requa and Ficarra and our creative team. Fired up about this one. Here we go."

Johnson also took on Twitter to share his partnership with Disney. He wrote on his Twitter account, "This is big (like my head). Couldn't ask for better partners in DISNEY. #AdventureAwaits #JungleCruise."

Disney has been trying to develop a moving revolving the popular safari ride for since 2004 now and initially looked at Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to appear in one such movie it was developing in 2011 to be written by Roger S.H. Schulman. The studio wanted to duplicate the success of Johnny Depp starrer The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which saw several ride-based projects to be introduced.

The involvement of Johnson has revived the project after being dry-docked for several years already.

As of this writing, there is little information on the plot of the upcoming movie with Johnson, except that it will be a period piece.

Jungle Cruise is a popular original ride in Disneyland featuring retro adventures that transport park goers into a mélange of African settings, as well as the Nile River and Congo River. During the ride, park goers will be treated with encounters with wild animals, including rhinos, hippos and headhunters. The ride also features a piranha-infested portion of the Amazon River.

It is still unknown when shooting for Jungle Cruise will start and there is no target date for its official release date as of yet. Johnson's calendar is quite full at the moment. The former wrestling champion-turned Hollywood actor is amongst the busiest in tinsel town and is currently filming the action comedy Central Intelligence for New Line.

He is also scheduled to start shooting the film adaptation of the 80s popular hit TV series, Baywatch with matinee idol Zac Efron early next year. Johnson will again team up with Andreas director Brad Peyton for the movie adaptation of video game Rampage, also for New Line.

Johnson will also be very busy in the coming days to shoot for the next installment of the Fast & Furious franchise as well as a remake of Shazam!.
