When Frozen became such a huge hit for Disney when it was brought to theaters in the 2013 holiday season, the only obvious decision for the company is to make a sequel to what has become the biggest animated film of all time.  The original film ended with many questions to be explored as far as the lives of Anna and Elsa were concerned, and it is just a matter of finding the right story.  The story has reportedly been decided, but there have been a lot of rumors concerning Frozen 2, with many of them concerning Elsa being a lesbian.

Frozen 2 is confirmed as of this year, and it will be in theaters with a release date of sometime in 2018.  According to Movie News Guide, both the actresses, Idina Menzel (Elsa) and Kristen Bell (Anna) will be coming back, as well as Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) and Josh Gad (Olaf).  It will be directed again by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, and many are wondering what the story will be about. 

Some are theorizing that Anna will be the villain in Frozen 2, which would make an interesting twist.  However, Directors Buck and Lee have stated that Anna has a power like her older sister, but hers is about love.  It seems unlikely that Anna would suddenly become evil unless the explanation makes sense. 

There is a rumor that Elsa and Anna could sing a duet together, but it would be tough to top the runaway success of "Let It Go."   From what is heard of on CinemaBlend, Frozen 2 will be set in the same setting as the first with Arendelle. 

It is rumored that Elsa will have a love interest of some kind.  Many of the rumors concerning Frozen 2 are about Elsa being a lesbian, according to Yibada.  This has not been confirmed by Disney, and assuming that Frozen 2 has this female love interest for Elsa, it would probably be within Disney's rights as storytellers not to reveal it. 

There would be no way to keep something like that a secret after Frozen 2 gets released.  From there, there is going to be a lot of conservative groups complaining about Elsa's sexuality.  Many complained that the first Frozen movie, which featured a girl who grew up in isolation because of her powers and then "Let it Go" as an adult isn't some veiled message about homosexuality. 

Considering recent laws that support homosexual marriage in the United States, it is just a matter of time before these issues were addressed in mainstream Disney movies. 

So the big question is: if Elsa is revealed to be a lesbian, will this still create another hit for Disney?
