Duchess Kate of Cambridge: A Celebration of Her 35 Years

By Whitney Dotson

Few can forget the glorious sight of the wedding which officially united Duchess Kate and Prince William; favored by all who saw her very much in the spirit and likeness of her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, Kate has been a vision of elegance and beauty since her name was coupled with England's royal family. British onlookers and equally enthralled Americans looked breathlessly on as tall, slender brunette beauty received Diana's sapphire engagement ring, graced the wedding procession and, not long after, appeared the epitome of motherhood as the cherubic, smiling faces of little George and tiny Charlotte appeared. As of January 9, 2017, Kate celebrated her thirty-fifth birthday; how exactly, no one knows. But such is certainly an appropriate time to celebrate her life---albeit, from a distance---as well as enjoy the collage of images that she and her growing family have bestowed in their daily as well as, no doubt at times, their painfully public life.

It perhaps comes as a surprise that Kate was described in her younger years as an absolute "tomboy." However, the rough and tumble girl grew into an elegance which stunned the world. Particularly when she adopted the title "Duchess" following an internationally viewed wedding at Westminster Abbey, 2011:

Unlike most of their royal predecessors, Marcia Moody, author of Middleton's biography noted, Kate and William waited for more than a year to conceive. Once both felt that Kate was settled into her new life, however, little George Alexander Louis, third in line to the royal throne behind, was born. Few can forget their first glimpse of the peaceful bundle lying contentedly in his lovely, fresh mother, July 24, 2013:

Not quite two years later, Baby George was graced with a tiny sister. Charlotte Elizabeth Diana bore an uncanny resemblance to her distinguished grandmother----boasting a perfect hint of impishness between those rosy, royal cheeks:

Indeed, Kate's is a life given by God, a tapestry still a reception of divine embellishment. What anticipation to wonder what He bestows and where He leads next. God save the Duchess!
