'Duck Dynasty' Christmas Album 'Duck the Halls' Released

The Robertson family released their first Christmas album today, a mixture of Christmas classics and redneck fun. The album features all three generations of Robertsons, along with country singers George Straight, Josh Turner, Luke Bryan, and Alison Krauss.

The "Duck Dynasty" family is quite talented - not only have they excelled in the duck call business and made millions laugh with their dry wit and redneck antics, but they can also sing. The Robertsons made a trip to Nashville, Tennessee earlier this year to promote "Duck the Halls" for the Country Music Festival, where fans seemed very excited about the prospect (or at least about eating sweet tea "Si Cones" and taking pictures with the family in a giant snow globe).

The album is a compilation of Christmas songs - both cover songs and Robertson family originals - with a little "Duck Dynasty" twist. The lyrics of Willie's "Ragin' Cajun Redneck Christmas" portray the family's Christian values from the start - "Some folks want to know what [Christmas is] really for - down here we know it's about the Lord," he sings. 

The family sings "Away in a Manger," "I'll Be Home for Christmas," and "Baby It's Cold Outside," among other classics, with some Robertson-isms (and of course, duck calls) added in. Fans can fall asleep this Christmas Eve to Uncle Si reading his own version of "The Night Before Christmas" and singing "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch," and can glean wisdom from Phil's commentary as George Straight sings "Christmas Cookies." Sadie Robertson sings "Away in a Manger" with country singer Alison Krauss, and Josh Turner is also featured on "Why I Love Christmas" with Jase's wife, Missy.

"Nothing says 'Christmas' more than big hairy men in Santa hats," joked Willie in a video preview for the album. "Duck the Halls" ends with a prayer from Phil and a few words from Willie - "We gather to honor our Lord as a family ... God says make a joyful noise, and when it comes to our Savior being born on this earth, we will do just that. We will sing from our hearts."

The "Duck Dynasty" Christmas Special will air on A&E December 11.
