ESPN's Top 100 Player Ranks Jeremy Lin 78th, Fans Overjoyed

ESPN has recently released its top 100 NBA players, and Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin’s ranking jumped from 467th last quarter to 78th, which makes him the most improved player in the ranking.

Upon hearing the good news, Lin twitted, “Anything above 467 would have been sweet, but 78?? Wow, feeling blessed and thankful!!”

Some ESPN experts believe the result is a bit exaggerated, because Lin has not even played 78 games in the NBA. Yet, fans congratulated Lin through his Facebook fan page for his outstanding ranking improvement; they thought that his extraordinary performance deserved it. Some Christians encouraged him to continue to glorify God in humility and asked that God will continue to bless him, his family, and the Houston Rockets.

Lin responded, “I love my fans as well as those who dislike me. To be honest, I don’t know what my ranking should be, but one thing I know is that at the end of the day, statistics and ranking won’t matter anymore.”

Houston Chronicle columnists Fagan thought that even though Lin’s ranking does not mean much, but the Rockets need Lin to guide and lead them. He was very pleased to find out Lin’s high ranking. He also commented on how Lin did not forget his previous ranking. At this time, the Rockets prefers a progressive player that would help the team move forward rather than a star player.

Together with Lin, there are only two other Rocket’s players that are ranked among the top 100th: Kevin Martin, 76th and Asik, 99th.
