European Church Leaders Boil Holy Water to Protect Fish

Delegates of 126 bishops and other Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox Christian leaders at the Conference of European Churches in the city of Trondheim in Norway this week boiled holy water for a riverside ceremony for fear that it might kill fish. Each delegate brought 0.1 liters of holy water from countries ranging from Greece to Estonia for the ceremony to symbolize unity and boiled it in for ten minutes to kill any bacteria before pouring it in to the Nidaros River on Wednesday.
