The Evangelical Fellowship of Mission Agencies (EFMA) recently announced the installation of its new president and CEO.
Donald Bray, outgoing chairman of EFMA Board of Directors, announced the installation of the Rev. Steve Moore, according to a report on Tuesday.
"Serving the EFMA constituency will facilitate the convergence of my two most prominent life passions, leadership development and world evangelization," said Moore in a released statement. "I'm energized by the board's charge to build on the rich tradition of the past 60 years by engaging the next generation of mission leaders."
Steve Moore is the founder and president of Keep Growing, Inc., a ministry that trains and provides resources and coaching for both ministry and marketplace leaders.
Moore has been actively involved with missions for more than two decades. From 1987-2000 he served as vice president of International Ministries for Kingdom Building Ministries and then Emerging Young Leaders where he worked closely with missionaries in nearly 40 countries through short-term outreach, training, mobilization and research projects, according to the news release.
"I am excited about working with Steve, he has my affirmation as the new leader of EFMA and I look forward to supporting him in this process as Ambassador at Large," said Paul McKaughan, who transitioned from his role as EFMA President/CEO to Ambassador at Large in January.
"As a missions community we are facing great challenges and opportunities that demand fresh perspectives. I believe Steve is well positioned to give leadership to EFMA; I'm passing the baton with a commitment to hold up his arms."
EFMA formed out of the mission committee of the National Association of Evangelicals during a mission conference in 1946.
