Fallout 4 Release Date for PS4, Xbox One, PC: Top Four Theories Roundup

Not official graphics for Fallout 4, but coming soon.
Expect announcement at E3 2015.

The fabled Fallout 4 release date may exist solely in the overactive imagination of the fan community, which has placed hope in a potential E3 2015 debut. It is more than likely that Fallout 4 will debut on next generation hardware such as the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Naturally, Fallout fans on PC will not be left out.

In the sections below, we will look at four rumors that are making the rounds.

Fallout 4 Assets Found in Skyrim Engine

This month, MrMattyPlays posted video on YouTube alleging there there is Fallout content in the Skyrim Creation Engine. The self-described Fallout guru believed that he discovered items from the Fallout 4 preproduction.

"If they leave these things type of things in the engine, I'd imagine personally that's because it's going to be used," he said. "If they didn't plan on using this engine for Fallout 4 or another Fallout engine, then why wouldn't they have taken it out?"

The items in question included the Fallout baseball bat and Chinese officer sword. Last month, the same observer brought to attention Bethesda's removal of an old banner on the official Fallout homepage. In the video, he put out the theory that the game developer may space for a new Fallout installment. However, MrMattyPlays has always been quick to make a disclaimer stating that his observations could turn out to be nothing.

Bethesda May Announce Fallout 4 at around E3 2015 in June

Bethesda is certainly keeping a tight lid on information concerning its current projects. Even so, the game developer has already announced on their blog a special press conference set for June 14 in Hollywood, CA (via Tech Times). The same event will also be streamed live on Twitch.

Predictably, this announcement has led many fans to speculate whether Fallout 4 will indeed be announced at the said event. It is a safe bet that Bethesda will announce a number of other new titles besides Fallout 4.

Race Selection May Be Explored

One recent hypothesis by Movie Pilot suggests that Fallout 4 may allow players to select a race, which did happen in the 2001 Fallout: Tactics. Players had the option to select six different races that ranged from humans to super mutant ghouls. Again, this is just theory.

Will Fallout 4 Be Canceled? (Not Likely)

Recently, Motoring Crunch reported on a rumor that Bethesda has cancelled Fallout 4. Apparently, the series original creator Interplay Entertainment had blocked Bethesda's attempts at making the next Fallout an MMORPG title.

The publication pointed out that this is unlikely considering that the Fallout series continues to bring huge profits to Bethesda. Upon release in 2010, Fallout: New Vegas sold 5 million copies while generating $300 million in revenue.
