Since their introduction in the 1990s, EA's FIFA series and Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) have been trying to do to each other by adding various game tweaks and new gameplay styles. This year, both titles are expected to boast awesome features to please their avid followers. Now, here's the latest about FIFA 17 vs. PES 2017 release date, gameplay and new features.

Let's start with what's new for PES 2017. During E3 2016, Konami said the game has subtle changes to the pacing of matches. Dubbed as "Control Reality," the feature makes matches more realistic than previous entries of the game. Every player's decision matters and will affect the rest of the game. For example, when a player messes up a first touch or the speed of a pass there's no way to recover quickly.

Even though PES 2017 does not have the license for English Premier League, it makes up for an excellent soccer simulation. 

Furthermore, there are improvements in A.I players. They can now defend efficiently and make more interceptions. They can also mark star players more tightly or even double up on coverage. Game developers said the idea behind this new intelligence was to encourage players to be more creative in their attack.

Polygon reported there were also improvements in the goalkeepers, resolving an issue many gamers had with the game. Gamers should expect goalies are now intelligent enough to make brilliant saves. The ability to place trust in goalkeepers is one of the game's biggest addition.

Rumors around the internet claim Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 will be released on September 20, 2016, on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Now, let's check out what are the new features of FIFA 17. According to Engadget, the game's latest installment has three new features: a new story mode, improved gameplay and the introduction of Frostbite game engine.

The new Frostbite game is expected to improve the game's animation and graphics. The technology also provides realistic visuals that even players' scars or pimples are now visible.

Regarding gameplay, there are tweaks in a free kick and corner system. There's no right or left indicator during penalty kicks. During corners, expect to see ball indicator that will determine the ball's movement. Elsewhere there's a little more hustle and bustle to make matches more thrilling.

There is also a new game mode called "The Journey," where gamers play as a fictional soccer player named Alex Hunter. 

EA's FIFA 17 will hit gaming stores on September 27 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
