The much awaited new addition to Square Enix's Final Fantasy game franchise, Final Fantasy 15 will be released sometime in 2016. Game director Hajime Tabata gave confirmation on this during the PAX Prime panel in Seattle last August 2015. Tabata said he wishes to clarify the release window to fans after stating slightly vague comments about Final Fantasy 15's release date at Gamescom earlier that month.

Tabata didn't have any more specific details about the game's would be the release date, but announced that Square Enix plans to hold a "special event" in March 2016 where the game's release date will be officially revealed.

The game director also gave a progress report on upcoming Final Fantasy 15 gameplay systems and features, which includes the game's various cameras, AI behavior, monsters, combat and user interface. The said features completion was reportedly somewhere between 30 percent and 80 percent.

Square Enix is working on a simultaneous global release for Final Fantasy 15 for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Another much awaited Square Enix offering is Kingdom Hearts 3 with a rumored 2017 release date. Kingdom Hearts 3 is the long-overdue sequel to Kingdom Hearts 2 which was released back in 2005. There has not been much information regarding Square Enix-Disney crossover RPG, resulting in some rumors - One of which is the inclusion of a Daybreak Town in the game.

The rumors started at a D23 event where the game's developer, Square Enix took in a 3D edition of Daybreak Town. But according to Gaming Bolt, there seems to be no reason to include Daybreak Town in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Like Traverse Town and Radiant Garden, Daybreak Town is said to be the focal point for a player. Vine Report also mentioned a rumor that there would be a possibility for Marvel characters like Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Ant-Man and Thor,  and Star Wars characters such as Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, R2D2, C3PO, Boba Fett and Darth Vader to be included in the game. Tetsuya Nomura, the Kingdom Heart's game developer stated that they consider an expansion of it, but the addition of the Marvel and Star Wars characters may be difficult due to the limitations of Disney.

Kingdom Hearts 3 for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One is still at the stage of development but has announced a temporary release date on Dec. 31, 2016 and will start shipping on Jan. 2, 2017.
