Final Fantasy 15 and Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date; At Least FF 15 Has A Set Release Date, Kingdom Hearts 3 Is a Mystery

Square Enix certainly has its hands full developing two new offerings to some very successful franchises of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.  It is expected that Final Fantasy 15 is going to have some event where the release date will be announced, and that release date will make it playable all across the world sometime in 2016, probably before the holiday season.  As for Kingdom Hearts 3, players are going to have to wait, as there is hardly any information, leaked or otherwise, about that franchise.

The issue of Final Fantasy is its story, and Gamespot reveals one that is full of political intrigue that could rival the Game of Thrones series.  The story is based around the main character of Noctis, and his kingdom of Lucius is days away from signing an armistice with the kingdom of Nifelheim.  Before the signing, Noctis leaves for the imperial province of Tenebrae, where he wants to formalize Lucis' union with the state through his marriage to the Lady Lunafreya.

As it turns out, the peace offering is just a ruse, and the imperial city's army seizes Lucis' throne and its sacred crystal.  On his journey to Tenebrae, Noctis learns that he, his father, and Lunafreya are all believed to be dead, and so Noctis sets out with his three companions: Ignis, Gladiolus, and Prompto to stop this all from happening.

It is definitely a set-up for an epic game, and a recent report from IGN shows that director Hajime Tabata and marketing manager Akio Ofuji introduced audiences to a new character named Aranea Highwind.  In addition to the new character reveal, there has been footage of this character in action.  There is also news that another playable demo could be on the way, but there won't be any more details on that until March.  Considering that March will be the month where Final Fantasy 15 will have its long-anticipated release date,  fans are looking forward to that.

In fact, the date of the event, also known as Final Fantasy Uncovered, will be on March 30th at 7:00 PM Pacific Time, and it will feature "major announcements and surprises."  Those that want to watch the event online or live stream can do so through Square Enix YouTube and Twitch channels.

Considering that Final Fantasy 15 is very close to nailing down its release date, there is also pressure to Square Enix to divulge the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date.  That is proving difficult, as a Design and Trend reveal that company policy mandates talk about release dates only when a game is nearly complete.

The release date for Final Fantasy 15 is probably going to be happening in 2016, but as for Kingdom Hearts 3, it's probably going to happen in 2017.  The fact is that there is so much news on the Final Fantasy 15 front about the story and possible release date, but so little news for Kingdom Hearts 3
