Although the Final Stand DLC was originally thought to be the last of the new shinies we'd see for Battlefield 4, developer DICE now says that they plan to release even more content for the 2013 first-person shooter.

"With Battlefield 4 Final Stand released, we hope and believe that you will enjoy it together with the rest of the game for a long time," a post at the game's official site states. "However, there is one thing we want to assure you: there is more content coming for Battlefield 4."

While there are no further details available at this time, the folks at DICE are hoping that this news stirs up the community even further to get into the expensive franchise. "We will share details on exactly what this new content will be, and when it will arrive, in the near future. We understand that this may lead to even more questions about our plans, but rest assured that we'll get back to you on the future of Battlefield 4 when the time is right."

The Final Stand DLC is the fifth expansion for the popular military game, and it serves as a bit of a bridge to show off the futuristic technology that would come in Battlefield 2142's timeline.

The expansion focuses on the War of 2020 where each map is set in Russia, including Giants of Karelia, Hammerhead, Hangar 21, and Operation Whiteout. The new content added with this DLC includes the Rorsch Mk-1, the Phantom, the Target Detector attachment, the DS-3 Decoy, the XD-1 Accipiter. You can also get several new vehicles, including the HT-95 Levkov, the Shipunov 42, the Pod Launcher, and the snowmobile. Final Stand also brings five new achievements and eight assignments.

This announcement of new content comes on the heels of overwhelming player feedback that the developer takes to heart. "We've seen so much inspiring creativity and competitiveness in the Battlefield community, and we've had tons of fun together with you - in-game on the Battlefield and during the Battlefest seasons," the Battlelog post reads.

Player input is requested from the developer regarding the addition of classic maps in the game, so they're leaving it up to you. "We're aware of - and humbled by - the many requests of re-creating classic Battlefield maps within the Battlefield 4 universe. Now we have a question for you: if a reimagining of a Battlefield classic map was to happen, which map would that be?"

You can head over to vote a survey set up specifically for the classic maps, and you can even vote on several maps from different Battlefield games. This poll includes over 150 multiplayer maps spanning from Battlefield 1942 to Battlefield 2142 and everything in between.

Publisher EA has already said that the next installment of the Battlefield series, Battlefield 5, won't come until 2016, and a crime-themed spin-off, called Battlefield Hardline, is scheduled to release in 2015.
