FitBit Alta is now rolling out in some regions of the United States

The global release of the new tracker from Fibit is expected to happen next month. Today's reports say the Fitbit Alta starts rolling out in some regions of the United States, and interested buyers can now pre-order it at Amazon.

Here's what is currently known about Fitbit Alta price, update and rumors on the web.

Wearable reported that FitBit Alta is now available in the U.S., while other regions will receive the new fitness tracker by April. This information confirms to the previous FitBit announcement that their new tracker will hit the market in early 2016.

FitBit Alta costs a $130/AU$200, according to CNET. The wearable sports a large OLED screen that can show select notifications from user's smartphone. Its wearers can view calendar alerts, text messages and incoming calls.

Interestingly, Alta is the first wearable from Fitbit that offers automatic exercise recognition to its users. The band can recognize if its wearer is doing an activity or slacking off. Powered by SmartTrack, the device can detect activities like outdoor biking, running, walking and general aerobic workouts. Moreover, it automatically records an activity in the Fitbit app.

Instead of reminding wearers to "stand" or "move", the Alta encourages its users to accomplish a simple goal of 250 steps every 60 minutes. If the goal hasn't been reached 10 minutes before the 1 hour deadline, the device reminds its user through a gentle vibration.

Aside from movement recognition, FitBit offers fashionable and contemporary design. PC Mag said the wearable appears like a fashion statement rather than an unstylish fitness tracker. Compare to other trackers from FitBit, Alta looks trendy.

Wearers can also design their own Alta. There are different silicone bands that come in different colors such as black, blue, teal and plum. Other optional extras are leather and metal band. Some leather bands are available in graphite and blush pink. Also, a steel silver bangle will be available in summer.

The Alta is compatible on different devices. By using Bluetooth technology, the wearable can be connected to an iPhone, Android smartphone or a Windows Phone. This cross-platform integration is one of the major selling points of the device.

FitBit hopes that Alta will boost their sales this year. The $2 billion dollar-company now apparently has 10.9 million active users, which is a 100% increase worldwide and 200% in Europe.
