Since the beginning of this year, 12 employees of Foxconn factory, the world’s largest contractor for making electronics, have jumped to their deaths one following the other.

Recently, an online rumor claimed that the company’s chairman Terry Tai-Ming Guo invited pastors and doctors on mental welfare from Christian hospitals in Taiwan to counsel and share the gospel with the managers and company’s staffs at Longhua Science & Technology Park in Shenzhen.

A Taiwan Christian media has confirmed the accuracy of this rumor and reported that the hospitals that are assisting in giving care and prayers are very excited to have this opportunity to serve.

A Chinese Christian blogger who claim to be an employee at Foxconn wrote in his blog that after the 12th suicide that took place after Guo left the company on May 26, Guo returned to the company on the 27th, bringing with him pastors and Christian doctors, including Kuo Shou-Jen, president of Changhua Christian Hospital, and Dr. Luke Huang, director of mental health, who also serves as the pastor of Taichung Banner Church.

That afternoon, they’ve engaged in counseling and preaching the gospel to around 3,000 managers at the township of Longhua in Shenzhen.

The Christian blogger wrote that Huang begin by asking the employees who are Christians to raise their hands and inviting them to pray for Guo, who was so touched that he started shedding tears during the prayer. Guo expressed his reflection saying that since the 12th suicide he hasn’t slept and has been thinking about how to respond, but he didn’t know of any way out; however, after hearing the pastor’s message, he saw a way and has hope.

Afterwards, Huang preached the gospel related to the body, mind and the spirit. As some churches in Shenzhen saw Guo’s trust towards the pastoral team, they’ve also organized two cars to circle around the factory and the employee dormitories to pray for two hours.

The blogger said that he hopes that in the future more pastoral team can enter the factory to continue provide spiritual counseling to the employees. The Christians from the local churches also hopes that the factory can open itself up for churches and believers to conduct gospel care, and they’ve urged Christians to pray for Foxconn and to share good ideas and actions via QQ group.

This rumor of Foxconn’s chairman inviting pastors to the factory in Shenzhen for counseling has been confirmed by Taiwan’s Awakening News Network. According to the report, Mackay Memorial Hospital and Taiwan Adventist Hospital have also sent staffs to Foxconn to assist in counseling and sharing the gospel.

Chinese Christians have been actively posting comments and responding to the prayer movement, praying not only for Foxconn and Guo, but for all the factories in China and the souls in China to believe in the Lord.
