With the original Frozen movie still fresh in most young girls' minds from 2013, news of a sequel of the beloved Ice Queen and her sister has gotten most of the original fans very excited.

Ecumenical News speculates that since news of the sequel was only confirmed earlier this year, the release date for Frozen 2 can be expected around 2017 as the original Frozen movie took at least two years to produce and get released.

The question is, would its loyal followers still be interested by the time the sequel comes out?

At this point, most little girls (and even boys) who were 3-12 years old at the time of the original release of Frozen, will still have the memories of Anna and Elsa fresh in their minds and will still feel enough excitement to appreciate the new installment. While some of the original audience will still be in their pre-teen years, many will already be young teens, and will still be young enough to remain enamored of the magical queen and the mystical land of Arendelle.

Even today, most young fans still affectionately dig up their Frozen DVDs and play them when Christmastime comes around. The audience reception for the Frozen small features have also done exceptionally well on the silver screen and otherwise.

Even if the new sequel takes two years too long to come out, this will give the film enough time to ripen a new generation of movie fans, in particular, the little brothers and sisters of the earlier batch of viewers.

And with the plot spoilers leaking out, it seems that there are still untold treasures to be dug up in the Frozen queen's past. These will be revealed in the flashback scenes that will dominate the sequel.

The Christian Post report says that the new movie will expound on Elsa's childhood days. The original Frozen movie started off with Anna and Elsa as little girls, who, along with their parents, were already well aware of Elsa's powers and the extent of its dangers (without being aware of its potential). Furthermore, the question of how Elsa got her ice powers have yet to be revealed.

In the first movie, we have also seen how Elsa had to endure being a stuck-up and reserved princess because of the weight of responsibility that rested on her shoulders. After she learned to face her fears in the first movie, the sequel promises to show us a different kind of Elsa, one who is more upbeat, open and fun. The kind of sister that Princess Anna would actually appreciate.
