In response to the growing need to provide pastoral care for the English-speaking Asian youths in Canada, church pastors in North America are uniting their efforts in an upcoming conference.
Gen4x Church Conference, organized by a non-profit Canada-based network of pastors and lay leaders of local churches- Gen4X (Generation for Christ) - is going to be held on May 25-27 in Ontario, Canada. The Conference targets on Asian English-speaking ministries with an aim to provide a platform for them to build relationships with each other and to provide seminars that will address their specific needs.
Around a thousand church pastors and lay leaders are expected to gather. The Conference is part of an ongoing initiative sponsored by Gen4x in collaboration with local pastors. The theme of the Conference this time is "Building a Healthy Church."
Six famous keynote speakers from Asian American evangelical communities in North America are invited to offer a wide variety of workshops. Rev. Ken Fong is from Evergreen Baptist Church of Los Angeles. His church went from being a mono-Asian church of less than eighty worshippers to an English-only Japanese/Chinese American congregation of over 1200. Other speakers include Rev. Jim Bob Park, Rev. Dr. Paul An, Dr. Alfred Lam, who are all senior pastors from Chinese or Asian churches.
The Conference is sponsored by Compassion Canada and JAMA (Jesus Awakening Movement for All Nations) Canada.
