Germany vs. Algeria

Germany will go head-to-head with Algeria today in the Round of Last 16 at World Cup 2014. The key players to watch are Algeria's Sofiane Feghoulii and Germany's Thomas Muller. Germany is the favorite despite a possible, but unlikely, upset win by the African nation team.

The game will begin at 12 p.m. PST and will be broadcasted through the ESPN network. The match can also be watched online through live stream (free for subscribers) at the link below.

Germany has reached the semi-finals in the last three World Cups and has shown consistency in their strategic and dominating wins over their opponents. While it lost to Algeria in the last three matchups in history, such as the 1982 World Cup Group Stage match, it has nevertheless continued beyond what Algeria has ever reached in many more World Cup tournaments.

Today's offensive matchup highlights Germany's Thomas Mueller, who scored four in three in 2014 World Cup with a 66.7 percent shot conversion rate (4 out of 6 shots). Algerian, on the other hand, features the second most number of scorers, where five different players scored their six goals so far. It would be an interesting matchup to watch.

This year, the African nations have made strides in the World Cup as six countries, including Morrocco, Cameroon, Senegal, Nigeria and Ghana, have reached the last Round of 16.

If Nigeria overcomes France with an upset win, Algeria may get a morale boost and use it to their advantage in today's match against Germany. However, the odds are stacked against the African teams.

Germany vs. Algeria match will be played after the preceding match France vs. Nigeria, and the winners of each match will play against one another.

The highly-anticipated match will be aired on ESPN, and can be watched online by clicking here.
