God TV Appoints New CEO, Wendy Alec introduces Ward Simpson

Two years after Rory Alec announced he was resigning from God TV on grounds of “moral failure,” network co-founder Wendy Alec introduced a new CEO who will help usher the network into a new season.

Wendy gave the announcement live on Oct. 1, the network’s 21st anniversary, naming Ward Simpson as the company’s new CEO.

"I am so grateful God has brought Ward and the Simpson family into GOD TV, their vast experience of Christian business and ministry is invaluable," Wendy said in a press release. "With Ward as CEO I have complete faith we will enter a new season of stability, strength and success."

Simpson had been involved in both business and ministry, having managed an automobile distribution corporation while he was senior executive at the Simpson Group of companies, and also having held leadership positions in ministry. He served as the executive director of the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry and was part of the leadership team during the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola.

It is, therefore, no surprise that Simpson is driven by a passion to see revival happen around the world. His experience in both business and ministry would be beneficial to God TV, Wendy said. She also said that with the network having a new CEO, she would be able to give more attention to her programs at God TV. She would also be able to have more time for her novels, which are going to be adapted as a TV series.

Wendy announced God TV will have three new programs: Good News with Reinhard Bonnke, Church with God TV and Out of Zion.

"I am privileged to lead GOD TV into this next season," Ward said. "I believe God has so much more ahead for the GOD TV team and our partners as we continue to touch lives around the globe."

Ward and his wife Lydia have three children: Rafael, Netanya and Nathan. Their family has stayed in the U.S. for 20 years. His appointment as the network’s CEO comes two years after God TV co-founder Rory Alec resigned.

"After 20 years of service, I have had a moral failure this year," Rory said in a statement in 2014. "For this reason, I am stepping down. Please forgive me for the disappointment I've caused, but I know your eyes are on Jesus who is the author and finisher of your faith, and not on me, an imperfect man. It is with a heavy heart that I confirm my season with GOD TV is over for now."

Rory’s wife Wendy, who was the network’s director of televison, managed God TV with the network’s board and senior management team.
