The Golden State Warriors are undoubtedly the most formidable team in the NBA team. The dominance of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and the rest of the basketball squad makes the likes LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers tremble in fear. In fact, not even a healthy Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love can beat the Golden State Warriors. The San Antonio Spurs, which has the powerful lineup composed of Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge and Danny Green, also fall short in stopping the Harrison Barnes squad.

Given the intense performance of the Golden State Warriors every night, the reigning NBA champs are pegged as strong contenders to break the Chicago Bulls record. Under the leadership of Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls reached a 72-game winning streak in 1996. At the moment, the Golden State Warriors hold a 48-4 record. Hence, fans believe that the Festus Ezeli team can break Jordan's record.

This possibility became even more promising when Jordan himself gave his blessing to the quest. According to Thompson, the basketball legend encouraged him and the Golden State Warriors to break the record this NBA season.

"He [Jordan] said, 'Go ahead and break the record,'" shared Thompson via Yahoo Sports. He added, "I told him - I was talking to him about my little brother [Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Trayce Thompson] playing for the [Birmingham] Barons, they played for the same baseball team. You know, I still get starstruck when I see him, because I'm like, 'Oh, wow, that's MJ, that's the guy everyone wanted to be growing up.'"

Thompson further shared, "You know, he was cool to talk to. He gave me a lot of props. He told me to tell my pops [former NBA player Mychal Thompson] hey, tell my uncle. It was great seeing him, man. He's easy to talk to. You know, I didn't know he was, because it's Michael Jordan, but I felt like I've honestly arrived, too, because he knew who I was. That was really cool."

Apart from Jordan, King James himself feel that the Golden State Warriors have the ability to break the record of the Chicago Bulls. He said via The New York Post, "Records are meant to be broken."

As for John Wall of the Washington Wizards, he believes that the journey towards the said goal could get rough for the Golden State Warriors. However, he shared that it is not entirely out of their realm. Wall said, "It's going to be a tough task. Teams know what they're going for and what they're going after. It's all up to them. They have a great chance of doing it. But it's easier said than done."

Meanwhile, Curry himself recognizes the value of such an opportunity. He said, "I don't know how many times you're going to be in the position to chase a historical record like that and be a team that everyone remembers. We'll go after it, but getting the [NBA] championship would be much more important."
