Traditionally, Good Friday is celebrated as the day that Jesus was crucified on the cross, the day the Righteous One died for the sin of all mankind and offered His blood to atone for our sins. On this day, it is good to reflect on what God has done for us-the love He lavished on us freely, the forgiveness He gave though none deserved it and the mercy of His salvation.

Wherever you are in your walk with God, whether you are on fire, or joyous, or weary, or doubting, or hurting, or in lack, or sick, you can go back to the Word of God, be encouraged with the goodness and faithfulness He has displayed from the beginning and be assured that He will finish His work in your life. It all starts with the cross.

1.       For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. (John 3:16)

2.       For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. (Romans 5:6-10)
