The Heavenly Melody, a Taiwan-based Gospel music ministry, reported victories over the last two evangelistic concerts held overseas in the summer. In the two locations- Indonesia and Macau- both with very small percentage of Christians, thousands were moved by the Gospel music.

In July, four of the Heavenly Melody members accompanied by Sun Yueh, Dr Simon Hung, and Lillian Wang went to Medan, Indonesia. They partnered with local churches to raise funds for the reconstruction of Aceh and Sumatra provinces, areas that were hit by the tsunami and earthquakes the past few months. They also organized many seminars as well as the evangelistic gospel music concert entitled "Eternal Answer".

Through the concert, the Heavenly Melody and local church choirs performed together on the stage. The Overseas Radio & Televison (ORTV) Executive Director Dr Simon Hung delivered a message.

Dr Hung comments, "During this trip, 20 evangelical and charismatic churches worked together in these Gospel meetings. This is the first time the 20 churches have worked together in Medan. We encouraged them to continue working together as the body of Christ."

Indonesia has the highest Muslim population in the world. In comparison, Christians are just 5 percent of the total population and they often experience persecution from other faiths. Statistics show over 900 churches were burnt.

In face of endless persecution, over 300 Chinese churches continue to grow in the number of church members and offerings. A group called "Indonesia Chinese Churches Social Service" has set up to help the locals and the Chinese. The Chinese Christians have been doubled in the last ten years.

At the end of the evangelistic gospel music concert in Indonesia this time, over 1000 made decisions to accept Christ.

In early August, the Heavenly Melody has invited by Macau for the gospel music evangelism event with the theme "Living an Abundant Life". Evangelism teams from Hong Kong, Korea, and China have come to join as well. 4000 souls were gained through this year’s event.

The population in Macau is only 45,100, but the Christian population is just 1 percent. All churches in Macau are very enthusiastic about evangelism ministries in the recent years.
