Mount Lushan in the Jiangxi Province is famous for being the site of a historical church in China. The church is a t-shaped Roman Catholic-style Church that dates back to 1910. From 1916 to 1922, the church served as a classroom for an American school. In 1946, the church was converted to a protestant Christian church. The church is located at No. 438 He-Xi Road of the Mount Lushan and has an area of 200 square feet. The church has often been visited by many historical figures over its decades of usage. Famed visitors included Chiang Kai-shek, Soong Mei-ling, and the 1940s American Ambassador John Leighton.

This year, over 100 Christians are expected to attend the Christmas Eve service scheduled to be held this Friday. From Saturday to Sunday, the church will be opened for public viewing according to the Mount Lushan scenic spot administration

Mount Lushan is famed for having two historical churches including the Roman-catholic church. Both churches were built between the late 1800s and early 1900s at a time when American and British Christian evangelism took root in China.
