Honda unveiled the concept of its all-new 2017 Civic at the Geneva show. Even though it is only prototype version of the car, many enthusiasts believe it would be close to the actual version which could become available in early 2017. Now, here's the latest round up of update about 2017 Civic release date, specs, and price.

The styling of the 10th-generation Civic hatchback is slightly more conventional than the existing model, and it owes a bit to the Subaru Impreza.  Car and Driver says the new version of Civic hatch might be the best in the series in terms of design.

The car looks sportier. Its body slammed down almost onto the wheels. Also, it has center-exiting dual exhausts, mesh panels in the front and rear fascias and sporty wheels wrapped in extremely durable rubber. By upgrading the vehicle's design and engineering, Honda hopes the upcoming Civic 2017 will attract many buyers.

Unlike the current Civic hatchback, which is restricted from the American market, the car's new version will become available worldwide. It is reported the 2017 Civic will be built on Honda's Swindon, U.K., manufacturing plant.

For the 2017 Honda Civic Type-R, it will become available to Australia late next year. Car and Advice reports the upcoming Type-R is powered with 2.0-liter four cylinder engine that chunks out at least 300 horsepower, partnered with six-speed manual transmission.

Chief engineer of Honda Civic Tadashi Inazu claims that this model will become the fastest FWD car at world-famous Nurburgring circuit in Germany.  The existing Civic Type-R model is the current record holder in the iconic race track.

In related Honda news, the next-generation of Honda CR-Z is rumored to have 305hp 2.0L turbo-four engine which is used in the previous Civic Type-R model. The engine is apparently capable to deliver 280hp.

Also, a report from Motoring Crunch says the design of 2017 Honda CR-V will be based on the popular Honda Civic. Buyers praised the innovative design of the Civic, convincing Honda officials that Civic design is the way to go for the Honda CR-V. Furthermore, the next Honda CR-V will be riding on the Honda Civic platform. Under the hood, the SUV will have a 1.5 liter VTEC Turbo engine.  It is expected the new Honda CR-V will appear at the LA Auto Show this year.
