Season 4 of House of Cards, the highly-popular political drama, will premiere in February 2016, when the U.S. Presidential election campaign heats up, but Netflix is still keeping its cards about details and exact release date of the Emmy Award-winning show close to its chest.

With the first three seasons released in February, House of Cards season 4 release date is expected to take place on a Friday. However, the seasons' release dates were 13 days apart.  For instance, the first season debuted on Feb. 1, 2013. The second season was released on Feb. 14, 2014, while the third was launched on Feb. 27, 2015. Could it be that the next season premiere will debut in March of 2016? 

Following this release cycle, Netflix could release the next installment of House of Cards on March 11, Friday. While this is only a speculation, Netflix can still pull off a surprise before the actual premiere.

In the season finale of House of Cards 3, Claire (Robin Wright) had a falling out with her husband Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) at a crucial time as he prepares for reelection as U.S. President. It is unclear what will happen between the two former power couple in Season 4. There were even hints Claire will be running against her husband for the presidential seat.

Though this is not the first estrangement for Claire and Frank, the recent conflict seems to be more serious. In future episodes, Frank faces an uphill battle just as many of his former allies including the First Lady are turning on him.

Other season spoiler includes rumors that Scream star Neve Campbell will be playing a major role and together with her yet unidentified husband, will be the new power couple in the series and challenge Frank's presidential ambition.

It will be interesting to watch how Campbell's character play out in the House of Cards political scene.

The show's official Twitter account showing depicting Frank Underwood's platform in an effort to win votes for his campaign as the next fictional U.S. President, said Master Herald. The photo was captioned, "I will leave a legacy. #Underwood2016."

A separate report by the Christian Post added that one main character might be killed off in the next installment of the House of Cards franchise. It said that one of Frank's loyal lap dog and Chief of Staff Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) will "die" in Season 4.

But show creator Beau Willimon reportedly denied the rumors and even joked to Kelly, "Come on, I'm not getting rid of you," although this has not allayed Kelly's fear that the next season might be his last for the political drama because of the unpredictability of the show's plot and major characters may be terminated any time.

Netflix is expected to release the first official mini-trailer of House of Cards Season 4 in December 2015 to give fans a sneak peek into what's in store for the next installment. A full-length trailer of the popular show is rumored to be released in February 2016, days before its official premiere.
