This week Apple announced the newest version of its mobile operating system- iOS 10-which boasts upgraded features and impressive applications. As early as now, users can get an early peek on the firmware before it becomes available worldwide this fall. Here's the latest round-up of update about iOS 10 release date, features, and rumors.

Apple CEO Tim Cook described iOS 10 as the biggest mobile OS update of the company. In fact, he called it "the mother of all releases" during the WWDC 2016.  Some of the major upgrades of the system are revamped Apple Music app, updated lock screen, and improved Messaging.

The messages in iOS 10 include WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger-style stickers, animated visuals and various text effects. Moreover, iPad and iPhone users can replace words with relevant emojis with a single tap. They can also send handwritten notes and "invisible ink" messages which reveal themselves once the screen is swiped.

Furthermore, the new firmware introduces new lock screen that shows more information in notifications. One of the most remarkable features of iOS 10 is different Apple devices can now interact. The system has a universal clipboard that allows users to copy text from the phone and then pastes it to their Mac device seamlessly.

For those who want to download the pre-release version of iOS 10, take note that it has instabilities and bugs. Apple is still working with developers to optimize the software, so don't expect a finely refined and polished system here.

To get the iOS 10 beta, first, you need to register with Apple as a developer. The process involves filling out forms. Once you're a developer, make sure that your device is backed up. After that, go to Apple's developer channel and sign in.  As of now, the system is iOS 10 beta 1, but future updates will be released in the developer channel.

Make sure that your current phone is backed up to avoid any problems. You can store your data on iCloud or your local computer if you prefer. Also, do not download any beta version of iOS 10 from malicious websites. Many hackers posted fake OS on the internet to steal your data or install viruses on your system. Apple is the only source that you should trust with your device.

The fully functional iOS 10 might be released later this year together with the highly-anticipated iPhone 7.
